the pandemic
"And once the storm is over, you won’t remember how you made it through, how you managed to survive. You won’t even be sure, whether the storm is really over. But one thing is certain. When you come out of the storm, you won’t be the same person who walked in. That’s what this storm’s all about." - Kafka on the Shore (2002), Murakami

dedication
Dr. Manisha Sharma
In loving memory of my aunt, Dr. Manisha Sharma, a cherished sister to seven remarkable siblings, a pillar of support and source of immense happiness to her four exceptionally gifted children, and a beacon of inspiration to the countless students she mentored at the Delhi Public School, her presence was a gift to us all.
During the initial stages of her illness, she remained hopeful for a full recovery and aspired to document and share her journey.
In writing this, I hope to honor her legacy.

Special thanks
To the Valiant Frontline and Critical Care Workers,
In times of great uncertainty and challenge, you have exemplified the essence of dedication and compassion. Your unwavering commitment to the health and safety of our communities has not gone unnoticed.
You have put the needs of others ahead of your own, facing each day with courage and selflessness that speak volumes of your character and resolve. The sacrifices you have made — the time spent away from your loved ones, the emotional toll, and the physical demands — are the true marks of heroes among us.
Your service, often rendered in the quiet corridors of hospitals and on the streets of our cities, has been the shield that has protected so many.
We are indebted to your generosity of spirit and to the tireless work that you continue to perform. This book is an extension of my deepest gratitude for every moment you have dedicated, for every comfort you have provided, and for the countless lives you have touched.
